BY JEANNE MARCELLO STAFF REPORTER

CHESANING - The Chesaning Area Historical Museum, 602 W. Broad St., celebrates the passage of the Castle Museum millage proposal with a special Open House event Monday, Sept. 13, 6:30 - 8 p.m.

Explore the museum committee's newest exhibits featuring businesses out of Chesaning's past; including from the 1840s a reproduction of an old general store where you'll find shelves stocked with spices, tonics and other unusual products. Some of these items are still around today, but many are not. Others look very different today.

Explore Chesaning's Native American history as the “place of the big rock” along with its fascinating handmade Indian artifacts.

Don't miss the display showcasing the dam restoration project and a replica of the Parshallburg Bridge.

The Chesaning Area Historical Society would like to thank the voters and the community at large for its support of the Castle Museum millage, which funds the Chesaning Museum.

The Monday, Sept. 13 Open House event is an open invitation to the public to visit the museum. Mark your calendar and plan to attend.
