Birch Run/Taymouth Jaycees to celebrate freedom through Fourth of July Parade

BIRCH RUN – Celebrate the United States’ Independence through the only parade in Saginaw County this Fourth of July. The Birch Run/Taymouth Jaycees will sponsor their annual Fourth of July Parade and are currently seeking involvement from area citizens.

The parade will hold the theme “Classic Cartoons” and organizers are hoping that parade enthusiasts show up in droves in order to celebrate the United States’ independence. Plus, it is the only parade of its kind on this day in Saginaw County, so it provides a special opportunity for those interested in celebrating Independence Day.

This year’s parade will take place on Monday, July 4, at noon in downtown Birch Run at Marshall Greene Middle School, which is located on Main Street just east of Church Street. The route will start at this location, proceed west on Main, and then travel south on Church Street. The parade will end at Birch Run High School.

First, second and third place trophies will be awarded to the float that follows the “Classic Cartoons” theme best. The Shorty Fent Memorial Award is also planned for the individual who portrays this theme in an exceptional manner.
