AMERICAN LEGION GOLF OUTING JULY 16 – The third annual Chesaning American Legion Post 212 golf outing will be on Saturday, July 16 at Twin Brooks Golf Course, 1005 N. McKeighan Road, Chesaning. Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. There will be prizes, cash, food, fun and a 50/50 raffle. The cost is $50 per golfer, which includes green fees, cart and a chicken dinner afterwards. For those interested in just the chicken dinner at the Legion Hall, the cost is $10. Checks should be made payable to American Legion Post 212. Golfers can sign up in foursomes, or single golfers will be assigned to a foursome. The format will be a scramble. There is no deadline to sign up, but golfers are urged to let organizers know in advance that they plan to participate. CHESANING SUMMER SWIM — Summer swim classes are being offered at the Chesaning Middle School pool Monday through Thursday. Session two will run from July 11 to July 22, and session three will run from July 25 to Aug. 5. Preschool 1, 2, 3 is from 11 to 11:50 a.m. and 6 to 6:50 a.m. The cost is $45 for eight classes. Aqua Tot is from 11 to 11:40 a.m. and 4 to 4:40 p.m. The cost is $35 for eight classes. Level 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 is from noon to 12:50 p.m., 1 to 1:50 p.m. and 6 to 6:50 p.m. The cost is $45 for eight classes. Classes are limited, so pre-registration is encouraged. In a new requirement, children must be at least 5 and one-half years old or have passed Preschool Level 3 to sign up for level 1, unless the child has previous experience in level 1. Open swim is Monday through Thursday from 2 to 3:55 p.m., and Monday and Wednesday from 7 to 8:20 p.m. The cost is $2 per person. Water aerobics are Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 9 to 9:50 a.m. and Monday and Wednesday from 5 to 5:50 p.m. The cost is $2 per person. Open exercise is offered on Tuesday from 9 to 9:50 a.m. and Tuesday and Thursday from 5 to 5:50 p.m. The cost is $2 per person. Lap swim is offered on Tuesday and Thursday from 7 to 7:50 p.m. The cost is $2 per person.

JV VOLLEYBALL COACH NEEDED – The New Lothrop Area Public Schools is still looking for a JV volleyball coach for the upcoming season. For more information, call the athletic office at (810) 638-5400.

NL YOUTH CHEERLEADING CLINIC – The New Lothrop Varsity Cheerleaders are hosting a Youth Cheerleading Clinic on Wednesday, July 20, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at New Lothrop Elementary School, 9435 Beech Street, New Lothrop. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. in the elementary school cafeteria. The clinic is open to girls and boys from pre-school through eighth grade. Participants will learn a dance routine, sideline cheers and chants, cheerleading fundamentals, and much more. In addition, participants will receive a cheer water bottle and a nutritious snack. Participants are required to bring a sack lunch and should wear shorts, t-shirt, socks, and tennis shoes. Jewelry is not permitted. Admission is $35 per student.
