Extemporaneous Public Speaking is one of 11 leadership contests held annually at a state level. Its purpose is to develop agricultural leadership by providing for membership participation in agricultural public speaking activities, and to stimulate interest in leadership and citizenship. Participants are provided with a list of four major subject areas and choose one of these areas (for example, Global Agriculture and Ag Marketing) prior to the event. At the contest, students will draw a specific speech topic and are given 30 minutes to prepare a speech on said topic.
