GOVERNMENT MEETINGS

• NEW HAVEN TOWNSHIP BOARD will meet at 7 p.m. on Monday, March 13, at the township hall, 2705 E. Easton, Owosso.

• HAZELTON TOWNSHIP BOARD will meet at 7 p.m. on Monday, March 13 at the township office, 7505 Orchard St., New Lothrop.

• CHAPIN TOWNSHIP BOARD will meet at 7:30 p.m. Monday, March 13, at the township hall, 21481 Peet Road, Henderson.

• SWAN CREEK TOWNSHIP BOARD will meet at 7 p.m. on Monday, March 13 in the Township Hall, 11415 Lakefield Road, St. Charles.

• OAKLEY VILLAGE COUNCIL will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 14, at the village hall, 205 Parshall St., Oakley.

• ALBEE TOWNSHIP BOARD will meet at 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 14h, at the township hall, 10645 East Road, Burt.

CLUBS AND CIVIC GROUPS

• The BURT AMERICAN LEGION POST #99 meets the third Wednesday of each month at 7 p.m. at the Burt Opera House, 12888 Nichols Road, Burt.

• CHESANING SPORTS BOOSTERS will meet on Wednesday, March 15 at 7 p.m. in room 401 at Chesaning High School.

• The ST. CHARLES LIONS CLUB will meet on Wednesday, March 15 at 6 p.m. at the St. Charles United Methodist Church, 301 W. Belle St., St. Charles.

• The MONTROSE BLUEBERRY FESTIVAL COMMITTEE will meet at 7 p.m. on the third Thursday of each month at the Montrose Depot, 154 W. State St., Montrose. Visitors should contact the festival email at montroseblueberryfestival@hotmail.com one week prior to the meeting in order to be placed on the agenda.

• RETIREES of Redmonds, Singer, Controls Company, Allied Motions and Motor Products get together on the second Tuesday of each month at noon to talk of old times and just have fun at Ponderosa Steak House, 1441 E. • The MONTROSE HISTORICAL AND TELEPHONE PIONEER MUSEUM speakers program will feature Jim Daenzer, of Owosso, on Monday, March 13 at 7 p.m. He will talk about collecting advertising and will bring items from his collection to show. The program is free and open to the public. The museum is located at 144 E. Hickory St., Montrose.

FOOD AND FELLOWSHIP

• The Chesaning Sports Boosters’ 15th annual DINNER DANCE will be held on Saturday, March 18 at the St. Peter Parish Hall. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. with dinner at 6:30 p.m. For more information or to purchase tickets, contact Patti at (989) 798-4581.

• The Owosso ZCBJ annual HOMEMADE DUMPLING SALE is going on now by pre-order only. The cost is $7 for a bag of two dozen dumplings. Orders must be placed by noon on Monday, April 3, with pick-up on Thursday, April 6 from noon to 5 p.m. Call Janet at (989) 723- 5926 or Joe at (517) 290-1015 to place an order.

• There will be a PALM SUNDAY DINNER on Sunday, April 9 at the Owosso ZCBJ Hall, 1775 Owosso Ave., Owosso. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. with dinner served from noon to 2 p.m. The cost is $15 for adults, $4 for children ages 6-10, and free for ages 5 and under. The dinner will be by prepaid reservations only. • New Wine Church, 734 Brady St., Chesaning, holds a FREE COMMUNITY DINNER on the third Saturday of the month from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Menus varie each month. Those who may need a ride can call (989) 845-7878.

• There will be a WET BURRITO DINNER at the St. Charles Masonic Temple every third Friday of the month from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. The cost is $10. The Masons will also deliver. Call (989) 865-8568.

• The First United Methodist Church of New Lothrop will host a SOUP AND PIE SUPPER featuring homemade soup on Wednesday, March 16, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. The cost is $5 for adults, $2.50 for children.

• There will CHICKEN DINNER on Saturday, March 18 at the Henderson United Methodist Church. Take-outs and serving will be from 4:30 to 7 p.m. The menu includes baked chicken, mashed or baked potatoes, corn, cole slaw, biscuits and gravy, and pie or cake. A free will offering will be collected.

• The Montrose United Methodist Church will host a SOUP AND PIE SUPPER on Thursday, March 16 from 4 to 6:30 p.m. The cost is $6.

• The Montrose Order of the Eastern Star #351 will host a SPAGHETTI DINNER on Saturday,

March 18 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Montrose Masonic Temple, 130 Parkway St., Montrose. They will be serving spaghetti, salad, garlic bread, beverage and homemade cake. The cost is $8. There will also be a silent auction and 50/50 drawing. All are welcome.

SUPPORT GROUPS

• The Memorial Healthcare free DIABETES SUPPORT GROUP will meet from 1 to 2 p.m. on the third Friday of the month at the Owosso Senior Center, 300 N. Washington St.

• The Memorial Healthcare PROSTATE CANCER SUPPORT GROUP meets on the third Monday of the month from 7 to 8 p.m. in the Community Room at the Memorial Cancer Center, 721 N. Shiawassee St., Owosso. For more information, call (989) 729-4786.

ODDS & ENDS

• There will be a NEW MUSIC JAM at the Marion Springs Conservation Club, 20390 W. Brant Road, Brant, on the second Tuesday of each month from 2-4 p.m. Acoustic instruments only, please. For information, call Jim Van Luven at (989) 845-6721 or Dave Smith at (989) 865- 9393. Admission is free.

SCHOOLS

• Sunshine Learning Center and Bulldog Kids Care will be holding an OPEN HOUSE on Wednesday March 15, from 5 – 6 p.m. Parents and children will be able to visit each site and register for the 2017-2018 session. Sunshine Learning Center offers developmentally-appropriate learning activities provided by a highly-qualified staff. Tuition classes are available for children that will be 3 years of age by September 1, 2017 to 5 years of age (Children must be 5 years of age on or by Sept. 1, 2016 to attend kindergarten in the fall) with three different class options available. Bulldog Kids Care is open Monday-Friday from 6:30 a.m. – 6 p.m. and provides quality year-round child care for children ages 2 and one-half years through fifth grade. Both programs are located in St. Charles Elementary School. • MONTROSE COMMUNITY SCHOOLS BOARD OF EDUCATION Finance and Facilities committee will meet at 6:30 p.m. and the Employee and Public Relations committee will meet at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 14 in the Central Office conference room.

FUNDRAISERS

• RE/MAX New Image presents TRIVIA DARE FOR CHILDREN’S MIRACLE NETWORK, a fundraising event, on Friday, April 21 at 6:30 p.m. at the Saginaw Eagles Club. It will be a night of

trivia with a $500 grand prize and four category winning prizes. The cost is $50 per team of two, with a free appetizer buffet and cash bar. All proceeds will go to the Children’s Miracle Network and Hurley Hospital. For information, call (989) 790-0890.

• A WINE AND BEER TASTING event to benefit the St. Michael Catholic Church 2017 Mission Trip will be held on Saturday, March 25 at 6 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Chesaning. Tickets are available for $20 per ticket at www.eventbrite.com, the parish office and at the door, with hors d’oeuvres and open bar available throughout the night.

BAZAARS AND CRAFT SHOWS

• There will be a CRAFT SHOW AND INDOOR YARD SALE on Saturday, March 18 at the Owosso ZCBJ Hall, 1775 Owosso Ave., Owosso, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. For vendor application or more information, contact Janet at (989) 723- 5926.

• There will be a SPRING CRAFT BAZAAR on Saturday, April 1 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the St. Robert Activity Center, 310 N. Cherry St., Flushing. There will be over 100 tables of unique crafts from Michigan crafters. Lunch will be available. Admission is free. The bazaar is sponsored by the St. Robert Council of Catholic Women.

• There will be a FLEA MARKET featuring over 250 tables throughout St. Charles Middle and High Schools on Saturday, March 25 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is $1. For more information, call (714) 376-2008. Concessions will be provided by the St. Charles National Honor Society.

CHURCHES

• ST. CHARLES SEVENTH-DAY ADVENTIST COMMUNITY CENTER is open the first and third Thursday of every month from 6:30 until 8 p.m. The center is located at the corner of Clinton and Marcy Streets in St. Charles, and serves those who are in need of gently used clothing, household items and furniture (when available). The center also accept donations of gently used clothing, household items and furniture. Interested persons should stop by if they need assistance or have any questions.

VETERANS

• The Montrose Township Senior Center will be hosting a VETERANS DINNER for all veterans and their spouses on Thursday, March 23 at 6 p.m. Veterans are invited to share in a complimentary dinner for them and a guest. A representative from the Genesee County Department of Veterans Services will be on hand to answer any questions. Reservations are required and can be made by calling (810) 639-2822. The senior center is located at 200 Alfred St. in Montrose.
