HAZELTON TOWNSHIP BOARD will meet at 7 p.m. on Monday, March 26 at the township office, 7505 Orchard St., New Lothrop, instead of the second Monday this month.

MAPLE GROVE TOWNSHIP BOARD will meet at 7 p.m. Monday, March 19, in the township hall, 17010 Lincoln Road.

MONTROSE TOWNSHIP BOARD will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 20 in the Township Hall, 139 S. Saginaw.

CHESANING VILLAGE COUNCIL will meet at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 20, in the council chambers at the village office, 1100 W. Broad Street.


• The ST. CHARLES AMERICAN LEGION POST 468 meets on the third Thursday of the month at 7 p.m. in the American Legion Hall, St. Charles.

• The SHIAWASSEE QUILTERS meet on the third Monday of the month at 6:30 p.m. at the Owosso Senior Center, 300 N. Washington St. Some of their activities include making charity quilts, quilt speakers, trunk shows, round robins, mystery quilts, prizes, free fat quarters, and tips of the months.

• The BURT AMERICAN LEGION POST #99 meets the third Wednesday of each month at 7 p.m. at the Burt Opera House, 12888 Nichols Road, Burt.

CHESANING SPORTS BOOSTERS will meet on Wednesday, March 21 at 7 p.m. in room 401 at Chesaning High School.

• The ST. CHARLES LIONS CLUB meets on the first and third Wednesday of each month at 6 p.m. at the St. Charles United Methodist Church, 301 W. Belle St., St. Charles.

• The TAYMOUTH TOWNSHIP HISTORICAL ASSOCIATION meets on the third Monday of the month at 7 p.m. at the Taymouth Township Library, 2361 E. Burt Road, Burt.


• The Memorial Healthcare free DIABETES SUPPORT GROUP will meet on the fourth Friday of each month at 1 p.m. at the Durand Senior Center, 8750 Monroe Road, Durand. For more information, call (989) 729-4712 or (800) 206-8706, ext. 6655.

• The Chesaning Senior Center, 218 Church St., (CAER Center) will celebrate the MARCH BIRTHDAYS on Tuesday, March 20 from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. There will be music, a 50/50 drawing, bingo, pool, and cakes and ice cream after lunch. All seniors ages 60 and over are encouraged to call for reservations at (989) 845- 6565 by noon on Monday, March 19.


• The First United Methodist Church of New Lothrop will host a free DINNER AND MOVIE night on Saturday, March 24, featuring “Zootopia.” Dinner will be at 5:30 p.m., with the movie beginning at 6 p.m. They will be serving hot dogs, chips and beverages. The church is located at 7495 Orchard St., New Lothrop. Everyone is welcome.

CONTEMPORARY CHRISTIAN ARTIST Marty Miller will be in concert on Easter Sunday, April 1 at 11 a.m. at the Chesaning Church of the Nazarene, 625 W. Broad St., Chesaning. Come out and meet Miller and his wife, Janet, and enjoy a musical concert of acoustic, encouraging, original songs mixed with an easy blend of well-known songs and worship music. Come at 9:30 a.m. for a hot breakfast.


ST. CHARLES COMMUNITY SCHOOLS BOARD OF EDUCATION will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 21, in the high school cafeteria, 881 W. Walnut Street, St. Charles.

NEW LOTHROP AREA PUBLIC SCHOOLS BOARD OF EDUCATION will meet at 6 p.m. Monday, March 19, for a regular meeting in the high school library, 9285 Easton Road, New Lothrop.


• Oakley Community Church will hold a FRIDAY NIGHT FISH FRY from Feb. 16 to March 30 from 4:30 to 7 p.m. at the church, 327 S. Main St., Oakley. The dinner is dine-in or take-out, and includes fish (cod), fries or baked potato, cole slaw, roll, drink and a homemade bake sale. The cost is $11 for adults, $5 for children ages 10 and under.

• The First United Methodist Church of New Lothrop will host a SOUP AND PIE SUPPER on Wednesday, March 21, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. The cost is $6 for adults, $3 for children. Ages 4 and under eat free. The church is located at 7495 Orchard St. in New Lothrop. Everyone is welcome.

• The Chesaning Knights of Columbus will host a HAMBURGER NIGHT from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 15, at the Chesaning K of C Hall. The menu includes hamburgers, hot dogs, coney dogs, brats, sloppy joes, nachos and cheese, fries, and onion rings. Hamburger nights are open to the public.

• The Montrose Firefighters, Inc. invites the public to an all you can eat PANCAKE BREAKFAST on Palm Sunday, March 25, from 8 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the Montrose Senior Center, 200 Alfred St. Guests can enjoy pancakes, French toast, eggs, sausage, juice, coffee and milk. The cost is $6 for adults, $4 for children ages 6-12, and free for ages 5 and under.

• Hugh McCurdy Masonic Lodge #381 and the New Lothrop First United Methodist Men will host a SPAGHETTI DINNER fundraiser for Boy Scout Troop #90 on Wednesday, March 28 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church of New Lothrop, 7495 Orchard St. The menu will include spaghetti, garlic bread, salad and dessert. The cost is $7 for adults, $4 for children ages 6-12, and free for ages 5 and under. All are welcome.

• The First Presbyterian Church of Taymouth, 12517 Morseville Road, Birch Run, will host a FISH FRY on Friday, March 23 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 4 to 7 p.m. The cost is $11 for adults, $5 for children ages 6-12 and free for ages 5 and under. Take-outs are available for $10.


• The QUEEN OF HEARTS PROGRESSIVE CARD RAFFLE is continuing to grow. The jackpot is projected to reach $11,500. The drawing will be held Wednesday. March 20 at Pintown Pizza & Lanes in downtown Chesaning. Tickets sales cease at 7:50 p.m., with the drawing held at 8 p.m. Tickets can be purchased for $1 at Pintown Pizza & Lanes, Ace Hardware, and Reeves Wheel Alignment in Owosso. All proceeds benefit American Legion Post #212.


• Dr. Sushil Malhotra, Owosso pediatrician, recently announced his retirement after 32 years of active practice, effective March 31. The public is invited to an OPEN HOUSE on Saturday, March 24 from 2 to 4 p.m. to celebrate with Dr. Malhotra and his staff. The open house will take place at Dr. Malhotra’s office located in the Mitchell Medical Office Building, 802 W. Main St., Suite B (first floor), Owosso.


• Nelson United Methodist Church, 5950 S. Hemlock Road, will hold its SPRING BAZAAR on Saturday, March 24 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be crafts, cookie walk, bake sale and white elephant sale.

• The area’s largest one-day FLEA MARKET will be held on Saturday, March 24, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with over 250 tables throughout the St. Charles Middle School and High School gyms, cafeteria and halls. Admission is $1. There will also be concessions and a bake sale by the St. Charles National Honor Society. The school is located at 891 W. Walnut St., in St. Charles.
