The Montrose Township Board offered to sell its old building at 139 S. Saginaw St. to the city. Over the past month, city officials toured and inspected the 78-year-old township hall, pictured here. The city’s existing office, 141 Parkway Drive, was previously a garage and is in need of repairs. If the building is repaired, it would have to be brought up to current code standards, including American Disabilities Act (ADA) compliance. The township building already meets ADA, but will require some electrical work. The Montrose City Council approved a purchase offer during the March 15 council meeting. The purchase offer now goes to the Montrose Township Board for consideration. The next meeting of the Montrose Township Board is Tuesday, March 20 at 6 p.m.
