IRENE HUNTOON, of Owosso, 92, passed away on Saturday, June 30, 2018 at Welcome Home Assisted Living. Zilpha Irene was born on January 27, 1926 to Henry E. and Linnie I. (Bethea) Revels in Palmetto, Fla. She married George J. Huntoon on December 11, 1943 in Bradenton, Fla. They spent the rest of their lives in Michigan, where she raised her five children and worked alongside her husband on the farm. During her life, Irene worked as a waitress at Showboat Restaurant for many years. She also worked for other restaurants, sold Stanley products, and hosted jewelry parties. Irene loved being with her family and always looked forward to holidays and family gatherings. She loved to cook, and she enjoyed playing softball and basketball. She also enjoyed socializing in the Sunshine and Happy Hippo Clubs.

Irene is survived by her sons, Harry (Jill) Huntoon and Henry Huntoon; her daughter, Linda (Robert) Skaryd; her 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 11 great-great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 19 years, George J. Huntoon; her daughter, Marsha Baker; her son, George D. Huntoon; her parents; her three brothers and six sisters; her brother-in-law, Ted (Vivian) Huntoon; and her sisters-in-law, Doris (Richard) Kniffen and Arlene (Marvin) Flueling.

Funeral service were held at 1 p.m. on Monday, July 2, 2018 at Nelson-House Funeral Home Martin Chapel in Chesaning. Burial followed at Maple Grove Cemetery in Ovid.
