Chesaning 14-U Tennis tourney winners announced

CHESANING – The winners of the 14-under tennis tournament held on Thursday, June 28 have been announced. For 24 years, Tom Teal and Dave Gasper have been putting on a tournament for the kids, but this was the first time it was held on a weekday, not a weekend. Fifteen boys and 10 girls participated.

In the championship match in singles, Andrew Woodcock defeated his brother, Adam Woodcock, 4-1. Lucas Meder beat Brad Agnew 4-3 in the consolation tournament.

In doubles, Drew Schirie and Spencer Tepati won 4-3 over Andrew and Adam Woodock.

In the girls’ tournament, Maddie Schulte won 4-1 over Lindsey Andres in the singles finals. Eleanor Ondrias won 4-0 over Chloe Fath in the consolation game.

In doubles, twins Maddie and Aubrie Schulte won 4-1 over Eleanor Ondrias and Lindsey Andres.
