Misteguay Creek Drain Board moves forward with the final design phase of project

During a Tuesday, Sept. 25 meeting, the Misteguay Creek Drainage Board approved a contract amendment with Spicer Group to move forward on final designs.

The board requested final designs for: the channel between Verne and Burt roads in Albee Township, the flap gates and culverts, the maintenance shelf for a dam structure and the relocation of Cresswell Road in proximity to the dikes.

Spicer was also given the go-ahead to update easements for the project. Saginaw County Public Works Commissioner Brian Wendling said, “Once the easement documents are finalized we will work with landowners to get the easements signed. The current timeline is to bid the project sometime in the Spring of 2019.”

There are no pending lawsuits. The next meeting of the Misteguay Creek Drainage Board is scheduled for 9 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 9 in Venice Township in Shiawassee County.
